‘Between a high, solid wall and an egg that breaks against it, I will always stand on the side of the egg.’ - Haruki Murakami
‘假如這裡有堅固的高牆和撞牆破碎的雞蛋,我總是站在雞蛋一邊。’ - 村上 春樹
This is local artist Don Mak’s (麥東記 donmak & co.) interpretation of Haruki Murakami’s famous ‘egg and the wall’ speech which Don kindly created at our request.
‘Love’, says Don, is what the struggle unfolding now in Hong Kong should be about. Love for our brothers and sisters, love for our home, love for the next generation. And so that is what Don sought to depict in his illustration.
We are honored to be able to offer high quality digital prints of this very special illustration for sale at our bookshop and through our website.
100% of the proceeds from each sale will be donated to the 612人道支援基金 612 Humanitarian Relief Fund and/or 星火同盟 抗爭支援 (Spark Alliance HK).
